We hope all Mothers and Mothers-To-Be had an amazing Mother’s Day last weekend! Evanna and I started our celebration with some self-love and tried the latest pampering trend – HEAD SPA! We’ve been seeing benefits of scalp massages all over our social media feeds – like improving mood, promote hair growth, reduces tension and stress; so it was definitely on our to-do list to give it a try.
We went to New Century Head Spa in Main Street Markham, so we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather after our treatment with a leisurely stroll. The Spa was clean, cute, and also busy. You know what they say… if it’s busy.. it has to be good!
The bed and blankets were all lined with disposable liners, and a sign noting the room was disinfected. I don’t know about you.. but after Covid, this gave me a lot of reassurance.

The head spa was very relaxing and we particularly enjoyed the massages. Look how happy we were right after the treatment!
After our treatment, they brought us the hair-drying area which consists of a row of tables and mirrors, where our head masseuse helped us dry our hair. They used Dyson hair dryers so the process was fast, and finished the drying with some spray that helps improve scalp health. For those who are particular with how their hair is styled or have frizzy hair like us should probably bring your own styling tools and hair products.
Although it wasn’t really the spa experience we were expecting, our overall experience was positive. If you are looking for a straight-to-the-point head spa treatment, the New Century Head Spa is a good option. Their Mother’s Day Special is going on until the end of May, so definitely check out their website for more info! However, if you are looking for the full spa experience (robes, fancy decor, high-end products, saunas, and teas and crackers after your treatment), this may not be the right place for you.
