Summerlicious Toronto

Hi Everyone,

I’m so sad summerlicious is over again! I feel like I don’t have enough time to taste all the yummy places around GTA. If you are not with summerlicious, here’s a brief summary!

From July 3 – 26, more than 210 of Toronto’s top restaurants are offering three-course prix fixe menus at one of three price categories:

Lunch:   $18  |  $23  |  $28
Dinner:  $25  |  $35  |  $45

Yes they raised the price. It used to be only $15 for lunch in some restaurants. Now it’s min $18. The good news is that the the $45 mark is still the same for the higher end restaurants.

One of my favorite things about life in Toronto is the amazing choice of restaurants. A friend of mine has recently moved to Toronto after she found an awesome new furnished apartment on the DelSuites real estate website so we will definitely be going out for a meal soon to celebrate her finding a new home! I cannot wait to see her apartment for myself.

Anyway, if ever you want to eat out in Toronto, you must remember to book in advance! I’ve been using Opentable for all of my summerlicious meals. Horray! I now have a cheque of $26 dollars to enjoy for my next meal. I might just save the points and accumulate until I have $60 cheque 🙂

Chop Steakhouse Mississauga 5/5 stars – Dinner $35 PP

I will come here again, again and again. Their portion is HUGE! Chop Meadowvale is today’s modern steakhouse. They offer the best cuts of steak, the freshest seafood, and a range of delicious appetizers. Our menu is full of amazing meals, including classics like Steak and Lobster, and innovative dishes such as our Citrus Soy Glazed Fresh Salmon. Save room for our handmade desserts to finish your meal.

The place is really spacious. I love there’s a lot of parking too! I hate fighting for a parking spot.

Fabbrrica Summerlicious 3/5 Stars – Lunch $23 PP

Well, this was a huge disappointment. I love coming here for their food, but their portions were so small… I almost wanted to order a plate of fries to fill me up after my lunch. The style of cuisine is uniformly rustic and intended for the casual enjoyment in which it was originally conceived. Designed by Giannone Petricone. I love rustic. Anything rustic I would LOVE.

The Hot House and Bar – 4/5 stars Dinner 25PP

To my surprise… I actually really liked it! Located in Downtown Toronto’s historic St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood, The Hot House Restaurant & Bar offers great food and wine, service, and a comfortable atmosphere at a reasonable price. The Hot House is in close proximity to the city’s Financial and Theatre districts, and is within walking distance of The Bluma Theatre, The Air Canada Centre, The Rogers Centre, and many other major Toronto attractions, theatres, and sports/concert venues.

The sun-drenched 150 seat patio at the Hot House is an excellent setting to sample some fine Italian wines, Canadian craft beers, or the one of the best mojitos and margaritas in the city. The Hot House also offers group menus and private areas ideal for birthdays, showers, office parties, meetings, or any other function. This place is huge!
