If you live in Canada (or even if you just love coming to visit) you’ll know how many areas of stunning natural beauty are out here. Whether it’s Niagara Falls that you’re exploring, or you’re taking some time out in one of the many National Parks, there really is no place like Canada when it comes to enjoying the outdoors. However, going for a walk can seem like something you’ve done a lot, and it can get repetitive. We’ve noted down 5 alternative ways to explore.
Camping is one of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors, both in the evenings and when dawn first breaks. There is nothing quite like sitting back, looking at all of the stars, and feeling comforted by the beautiful Canadian spruce and pine trees that surround you, especially if you have a mug of hot chocolate in hand, too. Get some tents together, and camp under the stars with your loved ones!
Sometimes, the outdoors is best enjoyed from the water, as it offers a completely different perspective on the world. Not only does it show you things that you wouldn’t usually see, but being on the water is also good for your mental health, too. The movement of the river is pretty calming (sometimes) so look into the favorite places to kayak in Canada, as recommended by the local water lovers.
Hiking is a great way to experience what Canada has to offer, and it’s a great way to explore if you want to see the natural wonders here in a bit more depth. Jasper National Park is one of the most popular places for hiking, but there really are a lot of areas that you can discover in this way. Get some good sturdy boots on, take some snacks with a high sugar content, too.
We know what you’re thinking, but stay with us on this one. There are a lot of festivals on throughout Canada, and some of them take place in the most beautiful locations, like Sun Peaks, BC. This may not be for everybody, but going to a music (or arts) festival will allow you to see the outdoors in a different light, and it will be one where you’re having a great time with some great people!
Canada also boasts a wealth of ski resorts, and there’s no better way to see the natural world than from the top of the slopes. Not only does this afford you a constant view of the awe-inspiring mountains, but the snowy scenery is something that you just won’t want to part with. Excuse us, we’ve left our hearts up there on the slopes in Whistler!
So, if you want to enjoy all of the great National Parks, lakes, mountains and forests that Canada has to offer, why not explore them by camping, kayaking, or hiking? If you’d prefer to keep it a little more comfortable, a trip to a festival or a ski resort may also be a good idea. Whatever you do, enjoy the beautiful scenery!
