It’s Friday! Another week flew by! This weeks Friday faves is going to be a bit different than the previous weeks. I decided to combine all the presents I’ve got during Christmas, birthdays and during my saddest time. You all shown so much support and brought me food, drinks, meal replacements, basket full of snacks (yes, basket full of my fav snacks!) I’m sorry but I don’t have a picture of it, I devoured it before I got a chance to take a picture. It was so sweet and so thoughtful of you both to bring that for me. They also gave me a puppy plush toy, tissue box, hope, and a thoughtful card. Thank-you.
Below are a list of goodies that helped me during my toughest time:
Gift Basket full of love and support and a customized built-a-bunny with it with a customized voice recorded message! My awesome friends decided to record a personalized message letting me know just how much they care. It was so sweet. You can view the recording via our instagram post for the recording.
The gift basket was filled with loads of goodies, such as bubble baths, green tea, tea mugs, scented candle (you might want to check out laurelandwolf.com for these), chocolates, monograph cup, bear slippers and lastly self-help books. I haven’t finished reading the two books yet, but I love it so far.
“You can heal your life by Louise L. Hay” and “Chicken Soup for the Soul – Grieving and Recovery by Jack Canfield, Mark victor Hansen, and Amy Newmark. The second book for me is a little harder for me to read. I can only go through 2 pages without tears just flowing down my face. They have real stories and it’s just so so so sad. I can’t bring myself to read them. I have to pace myself and can only read one story at a time.
As you see above, I pretty much finished using the stress relief bubble bath. I never used to take baths. Ever. I always see it as waste of time and water. After taking that one bath. I’m addicted. It’s true, when you are sad, or stressed. Take lots of baths. It’s amazing how good you will feel after.
Fuzzy Slippers. Polar Bear Slippers, Pink Fuzzy Slippers. When your feet feels good, you heart will naturally warm up too. There are days where I just don’t feel like moving from my bed. Not even to eat. Everything feels cold. Wearing something comfy, warm and fuzzy is what helped me get through these tough times. They are just so warm, it made me smile a little when I put them on and walk around the house.
Tea, drink lots and lots of hot tea. I love tea. It not only warms my hands, the tea also warms my heart. There were many many nights when I can’t sleep, I would sit by the window with my cup of hot tea and read my book.
Starbucks Lovers. And if you are not a tea person, pour yourself a cup of hot cocoa. I started to replace my meals with chocolates. Yes I would down bars of chocolate at a time. My heart felt so empty, I wanted to fill my heart with sweets. So I started to devour chocolate to replace my lunch and dinner. Bad bad habit! I then forced myself to drink a cup of hot chocolate instead of downing chocolate bars. Less calories and much healthier!
Gaming. To keep myself occupied and prevent my mind from wondering off. Start gaming. I love playing RPGs. My all time favourite is the Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. My dearest homeboy got me a limited edition of FF-X2. This will sure keep me occupied for the next 60 hours +
When you are ready… start going out and get back to your normal routine. This took me exactly a month. I gave myself a timeline, but know that everyone is different. All my life, I function only by deadlines and time frame. I hate to admit it, but I am a control freak. After many many sweat pants and sweater days and my hair flying in all directions. I finally decided to look at the world again. Everyone gave me my space when I need it, but welcomed me with open arms when I was ready to come out of hiding. They are such amazing people.
So go ahead, and start painting your nails again. My twinise and a good friend got me these nail polish to last me for the rest of the year!
Smell good. Smell realllll good, and sparkle too!
Eat Cheese. Lots of it too. Eat it with crackers, eat it when you are watching your favourite TV show. My friend got me this cheese set board. It came in handy when I was munching on cheese while I marathon through my Desperate Housewife… all 8 seasons.
Wine. More Wine. Lots of Wine. Red Wine, White Wine. All kinds of Wine. Ok, I’ll stop. As you can tell, I love wine. And… so did my friends. I can’t wait to host my next house party with these new wine holders! One says, white wine, one says red wine.
And if all else fails. Keep Calm and be a Princess.
Thanks so much for reading, there are no words to describe how lucky I feel to have you all in my life.
